Brush Fire Scorches 3 Acres Near Rocky Peak

A brush fire broke out along Santa Susana Pass Road in the Rocky Peak area near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Chatsworth.

CHATSWORTH, CA — A brush fire scorched about three acres of brush in the Rocky Peak area near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Chatsworth.

The fire was reported about 6:35 p.m. in the 10800 block of Santa Susana Pass Road, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews from the Los Angeles County and Ventura County fire departments sent resources to assist in the ground and air attack on the flames, Bastman said.

The LAFD sent 95 firefighters to battle the blaze, she said.

Some personnel were deployed to protect structures, though none were under immediate, direct threat, she said.

The fire's spread was stopped after about 65 minutes, Bastman said, adding that no injuries were reported.
