Brushfire Breaks Out Near Newhall
Firefighters were battling to keep a small blaze in check near Newhall Tuesday.

NEWHALL, CA — A fire scorched about three acres of brush Tuesday in the Newhall area, but no structures were threatened.
Firefighters were sent to the area of Sierra Highway and the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway about 12:15 p.m., including helicopter crews, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
After about an hour, the fire's forward progress had been stopped, the fire department reported. Crews remained on scene working to fully extinguish the flames.
