Chatsworth Area Brush Fire Shuts Down Topanga Canyon Boulevard
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the fire department did not release an estimate for the road to reopen.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A brush fire broke out in the rocky terrain of Stoney Point Park in the Chatsworth area Tuesday, scorching two acres and shutting down Topanga Canyon Boulevard before firefighters from multiple agencies were able to douse it.
The blaze broke out shortly before 1 p.m. in the 11500 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, south of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It posed a challenge to firefighters due to the rough terrain, but crews were able to douse the blaze by 2 p.m.

"With swift and effective Automatic Aid from Los Angeles County and Ventura County Firefighters in a region considered a Mutual Threat Zone at the three agency border, LAFD responders have now fully extinguished a two acre wildfire involving light-to-medium brush in the rocky terrain of Stoney Point Park in the City of Los Angeles, southeast of the intersection of the Ronald Reagan (SR118) Freeway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard," said Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesman Brian Humphrey. "Closure of all lanes of Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Santa Susana Pass Road and the 118 Freeway will continue until LAFD operations are complete and the roadway has been determined safe for public travel."
