Chatsworth Man Attacked at Ventura Restaurant

He was trying to break up a disturbance, police said.

A Chatsworth man was attacked at a Ventura Burger King restaurant according to the Ventura Star.

Randolph Perez, 53, was hit in the arm, leg and face with a skateboard when he tried to break up a disturbance Sunday, police said.

Albert Gonzalez, 18, of Santa Paula, challenged Perez to a fight at the restaurant on the 5000 block of Telegraph Road, police said.

Gonzalez then fled and was discovered an hour later at Buena High School where he was arrested after a brief foot chase.

Gonzalez was held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, according to the Star. He was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
