Dog Abandoned By Hit-And-Run Driver; 1 Injured In Crash: Police
The male driver fled, shoeless but on foot with two dogs, according to police, who said he left a third dog behind in the truck.
LOS ANGELES — A hit-and-run driver abandoned a dog in a truck after striking a wall during a crash that left a bystander injured overnight in Mission Hills, according to police.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 14600 block of Maclay Street, police said.
A white Ford Expedition hit a wall and the male driver fled, shoeless but on foot with two dogs, according to police, who said one person was hurt in the crash.

A third dog was found in the truck and taken to a local animal shelter, police said, noting no one was immediately in custody.
The abandoned dog was a chihuahua, according to KTLA, which reported that neighbors wrapped the animal in a blanket until the police arrived.
