Footage Of Suspected Intruder In Valley Village Slaying Released

A 53-year-old man was killed in his Valley Village apartment, and police released images of his suspected killer.

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA — Authorities on Wednesday identified a man killed by an intruder inside his Van Nuys apartment over the weekend, rattling the community where the killer remained at large.

Today police are asking for help identifying the suspect, a man seen on camera in the area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Patrol officers from the Van Nuys Division were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. Saturday to the 12600 block of Riverside Drive to make a welfare check.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Hidra was found unresponsive inside his apartment upon the arrival of the officers.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location, where they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police stated that the suspect had unlawfully entered the victim's apartment, prompting a physical dispute which resulted in the victim's death.

Detectives released a photo of the suspect to the public in hopes of locating him.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-6-inch tall Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds, with black hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, a white shirt, and blue jeans.
