Judge Accused of Shoving Woman Near His Chatsworth Home

A judge living in Chatsworth is facing one count of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly got into a scuffle with a woman outside of his home over cleaning up after her dog, the Los Angeles Times reports.

On July 18, LA County Superior Court Judge Craigh Richman saw Connie Romero place a bag of dog droppings near a curb. She accuses the judge of pushing her from behind, causing her to fall and suffer some scratches, scrapes and a swollen wrist, according to the Times.

Richman's attorney calls Romero's account "total fabrication," saying she allegedly threw the bag at the judge when she was asked to find a trash can and that she eventually pushed first.

Richman is to be arraigned on Nov. 6 at Van Nuys Superior Court.
