Killer Chases Car In Granada Hills, Shooting Teen Passenger To Death

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was a passenger in the vehicle when he was shot repeatedly, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A teenager was killed in a car-to-car shooting early Wednesday morning in the Granada Hills area, and the killer remains at large.

According to KTLA, the shooter stalked the victim's vehicle through the area before opening fire. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was a passenger in the vehicle when he was shot repeatedly, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The shooting is not believed to be gang-related. A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman would not say whether the shooting was investigated as a road rage killing.

The fatal ambush happened at about 12:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 7500 block of Rinaldi Street near Shoshone Avenue. In the moments leading up to the slaying, the shooter chased the victim's vehicle, but police did not say why, KTLA reported.

"Upon their arrival, officers located a victim on the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," the Los Angeles Police Department announced in a written statement. "Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased."

The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Police did not release a description of the suspect or the suspect's vehicle.
