LAPD Officer Injured In 101 Freeway Crash While Pursuing Burglars

Three to four commercial burglary suspects remained at large Friday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A high-speed police chase involving burglary suspects on the Ventura (101) Freeway ended with a crash that injured a Los Angeles Police Department Officer early Friday morning. One officer has been hospitalized, and multiple burglary suspects remain at large, according to the LAPD.

"At 3:15 in the morning in the 15300 block of Sherman Way, West Valley officers observed three to four males exiting a business with burglary tools," LAPD Officer Charles Miller told Patch. "They entered a white Mercedes and sped away, at which time a vehicle pursuit started."

The pursuing officers crashed near Tampa Avenue and the 101 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
