Man Killed In North Hills Car Crash

The accident occurred on Plummer Street, and reportedly may have been caused by one driver running a red light.

The driver of a car that collided with a truck in North Hills today was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The crash occurred in the 15800 block of Plummer Street about 6:10 a.m. The truck, which was hauling a piece of heavy construction equipment, was southbound on Haskell Avenue when it collided with the car, which was westbound on Plummer Street, said Sgt. David Delgado of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The vehicles ended up on a lawn. The intersection is controlled by a traffic signal, and one vehicle may have gone through a red light, Delgado said.

The name of the fatally injured man, who was in his late 50s, was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
