Northridge Academy High School Among Top LA-Area Schools: Ranking
Northridge Academy High School ranks among the top third of LAUSD public high schools, according to U.S. News and World Report.
NORTHRIDGE, CA — Northridge Academy High School ranks among the best public high schools in the county, according to a new ranking released Tuesday from U.S. News & World Report.
In the 2024 Best High Schools list, Northridge Academy High School ranks 56th among all 183 Los Angeles Unified School District high schools, 270th among all Los Angeles and Orange county public high schools, 662nd in California and No. 5,175 out of 17,655 nationally ranked schools.
U.S. News determines rankings based on student performance on math, reading and science assessments; graduation rates; and AP exam participation.

Northridge Academy High School has a 97 percent graduation rate, and 34 percent of students took at least one Advanced Placement exam. The school's proficiency scores in math and science are low — 14 percent in math and 24 percent in science, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Among the public high schools ranked in Los Angeles County, two landed in the top 20 nationally.

Whitney High School in Cerritos is ranked 11th in the nation and first in the county. Science Academy Stem Magnet in North Hollywood is ranked 12th in the nation and second in the county.
Among the 1,652 schools ranked in California, 121 landed in the top 5 percent nationally, and 579 were in the top 25 percent.
State-by-state performance is based solely on which states have the largest proportion of schools in the top 25 percent. Massachusetts once again leads in the ranking, followed by Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida, respectively. California came in 7th.
