A Northridge church is trying to find funding after more than $10,000 worth of event supplies were stolen from a storage shed, the Daily News reports.
A church elder on Sunday noticed the structure's door was ajar and that everything from outdoor lighting eqiupment to a power supply box and event booths were cleared out.
“What’s particularly upsetting is that we reach out to the children in the area of the church and regularly get 500 to 800 children and their families here, many of them from the lower-income housing projects near the church,” Pastor Phil Roberts told the Daily News.
A donation drive has been set up for the event, which takes places on the day of Halloween.
