Northridge Homeless Encampment Cleared, 16 People Provided Housing
Officials cleared a long-standing homeless encampment in Northridge on Thursday.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Officials on Thursday cleared a homeless encampment in Northridge and provided housing for 17 people who were living there, according to the mayor's office.
The cleanup, conducted as part of Mayor Karen Bass' Inside Safe initiative, was focused on a long-standing encampment set up along railroad tracks near Roscoe and Balboa boulevards, the mayor's office told Patch.
“Whether it’s on train tracks or next to freeways, the City of Los Angeles is working to ensure that we are confronting the homelessness crisis in every part of our city,” Bass said in a statement. “Through coordination with partners, we are coming together to provide life-saving services. We will not stop.”
