Northridge Kidnapping Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
A detective shares a detailed account told to her by the 10-year-old victim.
Not guilty pleas were entered Wednesday in the case of a man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 10-year-girl in Northridge and another man suspected of driving the getaway vehicle, KFI reports.
Tobias Dustin Summers, 32, is accused of kidnapping the girl from her home on March 27 and is facing dozens of other felony counts. Daniel Martinez, 29, allegedly drove the getaway car.
Summers was eventually arrested in Mexico.
At the San Fernando Courthouse, LAPD detective Carla Zuniga testified about the victim's account of the ordeal.
"She was asleep in bed when a man came up to her and pointed a knife at her throat," Zuniga said.
She added that the girl said she was forced out of her home into a nearby alley where Martinez was allegedly waiting in a car, KFI reports.
"She thought she was going to die," Zuniga said the girl told her.
Both Summers and Martinez face life sentences if convicted.
