Pedestrian, 29, Killed In Sylmar Hit-And-Run Crash

SYLMAR, CA — A 29-year-old pedestrian was killed Sunday night in a hit-and-run collision in Sylmar, according to authorities.

The crash occured at around 9:45 p.m. when a black truck driven by an unidentified suspect was traveling east on Polk Street when it hit a pedestrian walking north, just west of De Garmo Avenue, outside of a marked crosswalk, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver continued east on Polk without stopping, police said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. He was later identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as Carlos Posada.
