Police: Northridge Man Was Soliciting Teens to Make Porn Videos

Detectives believe there may be additional victims and encourage anyone who may have information to please come forward.

A Northridge man has been arrested on suspicion of trying to arrange a meeting with a juvenile to engage in a lewd act and investigators were seeking possible additional victims, police said today.

The suspect’s name has not been released and it was unclear when and where he was taken into custody, but the investigation began after someone reported “an Asian male in the Northridge area was soliciting teens near a local elementary school for employment in pornographic videos,” according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement.

The suspect has subsequently been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with three felony counts, including solicitation and attempted child exploitation, police said.

Additional possible victims and anyone else who may have information about the suspect was urged to contact detectives with the LAPD’s Devonshire Division at (818) 832-0609. After-hours and weekend calls can be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7 and anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
