LOS ANGELES, CA — Showers are forecast Thursday through Sunday as a result of a low-pressure system out of Nevada, according to the National Weather Service.

Also expected during the four-day period are thunderstorms in the mountains and possibly along the coast and in valley areas on Friday and Saturday, said NWS meteorologist Andrew Rorke.

This type of weather is "an early-April kind of event" and unusual for May, Rorke said.
