Scooter Rider Left For Dead In Valley Hit-And-Run Crash: LAPD

Police are searching for a driver who fatally struck a man riding a scooter over the weekend.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man who was riding an electric scooter Panorama City over the weekend.

The scooter rider was traveling northbound on Woodman Avenue near Strathern Street in the No. 3 lane at around 9:35 p.m. Sunday when a gray Honda sedan traveling northbound in the same lane hit him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The impact caused the rider to be ejected and collide with the roadway," police said in a statement.

Following the first collision, a second vehicle driving northbound on Woodman hit the scooter. "The driver in the second collision is cooperating with the investigation," police said.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the man, who is in his early 30s, dead at the scene.

The LAPD posted a video of the crash captured by a surveillance camera.
