Second Man Dies In West Hills Park Shooting

WEST HILLS, CA — Two men died as a result of gunshot wounds they suffered in a shooting at Shadow Ranch Park in West Hills, police said this morning.

The gunfire was reported about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 22600 block of Vanowen Street, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

One victim died at the scene and the second was taken to a hospital, where he later died, the LAPD said.

The shooting occurred on a sports field at the park, NBC4 reported.

It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related, Lopez said.

A description of the shooter or shooters was not immediately available.
