Sierra Canyon School to Resume Construction at Sports Field

They'll be building a baseball field, parking lot, restroom and spectator seating.

There's much Sierra Canyon School-related construction going on. The new gymnasium is ready on Rinaldi Street. Turn-lane construction and revised traffic signals are nearing completion at Chatsworth Street and De Soto Avenue. Variel Avenue is being widened.

And now, school officials are returning their attention to the athletic fields along De Soto Avenue, just south of the 118 Freeway.

The school sent this letter to the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council:

Sierra Canyon school would like to inform you that the construction of Phase II of the Athletic Fields located at 11047 De Soto will begin on June 14, 2012. 

Construction will be continuous daily Monday through Friday 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. until complete.

Construction is expected to last approximately 300 working days, barring unforeseen conditions and weather considerations and may not be continuous. 

The construction activities will include the excavation, grading and construction of the site to construct baseball field, parking lot, restroom facilities and spectator seating.
