Small Brush Fire Threatens Chatsworth Home

Sunday's vegetation fire is the third brush fire in Chatsworth in less than a week. the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Firefighters extinguished a small grass fire Sunday in Chatsworth that scorched about a half acre and damaged a patio of a house as well as a shed, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire which broke out near 10947 Canoga Ave. was reported at 4:33 p.m., said fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The department dispatched 48 firefighters tot he scene and knocked down the flames in about 33 minutes, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation. It was the third small brushfire in Chatsworth in less than a week.
