Sparks Fly In Stolen U-Haul Truck Chase Through San Fernando Valley
Police set up a perimeter to catch the suspect after he fled on foot in the Winnetka area.
LOS ANGELES, CA—A driver of a stolen U-Haul box truck towing a pickup led police on a wild chase Tuesday morning, sparks flying as the trailer dragged through the streets of the San Fernando Valley.
The chase ended in Winnetka where the suspect fled on foot and was arrested following a manhunt.
"They did set up a perimeter and got one person in custody for grand theft auto and felony evading," LAPD Officer Jeff Lee said.

According to Lee, the chase began at 3:04 a.m. in Encino and ended in the 8500 block of Penfield Avenue in Winnetka.
Police brought in a K-9 team to help find and arrest the suspect.

He added that officers later found the suspect in a home in the neighborhood and arrested him on suspicion of grand theft auto.
It wasn't immediately clear what was inside the U-Haul truck at the time of the chase, which lasted about 25 minutes.
