Wednesday Is 7-Eleven Day! Free Slurpees for Everyone!
The convenience store celebrates its anniversary every year by giving away its signature 7.11-ounce frozen drinks for free.

It seems hard to believe, but the first 7-Eleven store opened in 1927, so the convenience store chain is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year.
This is exciting for one reason: 7-Eleven Day -- which means free Slurpees for everyone!
As has become the annual tradition, 7-Eleven patrons will be given a free 7.11-ounce Slurpee simply for the asking anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. July 11. That's Wednesday.

The celebration is especially noteworthy because it also marks the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Slurpee itself.
“This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million," said Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, in a media release.

The company has also created downloadable birthday attire – tiny bow ties, hair bows and two sizes of party hats -- for folks who want to dress for the occasion. They can be found at 7-Eleven.com or slurpee.com/Rewards.
