Valley Biker Killed In Granada Hills Crash
A 43-year-old biker was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Golden State (5) Freeway in Granada Hills Sunday.
GRANADA HILLS, CA — Authorities Monday identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a solo crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Granada Hills.
The crash occurred about 7:45 a.m. Sunday on the truck route north of Balboa Boulevard, when the man "failed to properly negotiate a sweeping right curve in the roadway" and lost control of the 2004 Yamaha motorcycle, California Highway Patrol Officer A. Mendoza said.
John Sanchez Jr., 43 of Pacoima died at the scene, the coroner's office reported.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in the crash, Mendoza said.
