Erratic Driver, Caught On Camera During Hit-And-Run, Wanted In West Valley: LAPD

Police are searching for a driver who was caught on camera during a felony hit and run in the west San Fernando Valley, the LAPD said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police are searching for a motorist who was caught on camera driving erratically leading up to a hit-and-run crash in the west San Fernando Valley that left one person severely injured.

The collision occurred Aug. 3 at around 1 a.m. on Topanga Canyon Boulevard north of Parthenia Street in Canoga Park, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police released a video, shot from another moving car, in the hopes of identifying the suspect.

The video shows an Acura sedan traveling northbound on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, weaving in and out of lanes and between cars before sideswiping a BMW sedan. The collision caused the driver of the BMW to lose control and crash into a pole as the driver of the Acura fled the scene, the LAPD said.

The BMW driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what police called severe injuries.

The city has a standing reward of up to $25,000 for information that helps solve hit-and-runs.
