VIDEO: One Dead in Fiery Crash on Rinaldi Street in Chatsworth

A Honda Accord that may have been speeding crashed into a utility pole and caught fire.

Update: LAPD Valley Traffic Division now reports that "there is only one fatality, the other person was transported to the hospital and is alive but in extreme critical condition." The story and video originally reported two deaths.

A fiery traffic crash near the upper school campus of Sierra Canyon School on Rinaldi Street in Chatsworth Friday left one person dead and three others injured, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to the area of Rinaldi Street and De Soto Avenue about 10 a.m., Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Honda Accord that may have been speeding crashed into a utility pole and caught fire, Main said. One person died at the scene, and another was transported to the hospital in extreme critical condition, according to the LAPD. Two other people got out of the burning vehicle with only minor injuries, Main said.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation. The name of the fatally injured person was not immediately released.
