Woman Struck, Killed While Sitting On Ventura Boulevard

STUDIO CITY, CA — A driver struck and killed a woman who was sitting in the middle of Ventura Boulevard late Sunday night, according to a report.

The collision was reported just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Ventura Boulevard near Tujunga Avenue. Responding officers found the woman lying in the street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson.

Witnesses at the scene told police the driver was traveling west on Ventura striking the woman, who was sitting in the middle of the street, KTLA reported.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead. She was estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old.

The suspect remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
