2 Arrested In Novato Burglary Investigation
Police allege two men were carrying burglary tools and attempted to break into an apartment building early Thursday.
NOVATO, CA — Two men arrested Thursday morning are accused of attempting to break into a Novato apartment building, according to police.
The Novato Police Department said witnesses reported two men with a hammer trying to force their way into a building a few minutes before 3 a.m. Officers arrived to find the suspects attempting to leave the area.
Police said the men were carrying ski masks, gloves and a headlamp, and officers found boltcutters stashed nearby.

The two suspects, from Petaluma and Santa Rosa, were booked into jail on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, violating probation and disorderly conduct.
"We would like to thank our community for quickly notifying us of the incident," the department wrote Friday. "We are thankful our officers were able to safely intervene in this situation and potentially stop additional crimes from occurring."
