911 Services Restored In Marin County Following Flooding At AT&T Communications Hub: Police
The County sent out a multitude of alerts, warning residents when 911 services went down.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Flooding at an AT&T communications hub in San Rafael caused a widespread phone service outage across Marin County on Sunday night, disrupting both 911 and nonemergency lines, police reported Monday.
As of 1 a.m. on Monday, police said the AT&T outage was fully resolved, and 911 operations had resumed countywide.
The outage impacted landlines, wireless service, and intercom systems for police and residents.

The public safety communication systems failed around 8:30 p.m. Sunday due to the flooding at the AT&T hub.
The Novato Police Department remained unaffected and began taking landline 911 calls from San Rafael at about 10 p.m. San Rafael police dispatchers started receiving wireless 911 calls around 10:45 p.m.

By 11 p.m., Verizon had rerouted all 911 calls to the San Rafael emergency dispatch center.
