Armed Robbers Steal From Jewelry Store Holding Employees At Gunpoint In Marin County: Police

The robbers entered the store just before closing and held employees at gunpoint while others stole jewelry, police said.

NOVATO, CA — Four masked suspects entered a jewelry store Monday evening in Novato just before closing and one suspect held the employees at gunpoint while the others stole jewelry and other valuables from inside the store, police said.

At just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the Novato Police Department said they received multiple 911 calls about an armed robbery at a jewelry store located on the 900 block of Diablo Avenue.

By the time police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene.

Witnesses told police that four masked suspects, wearing black clothing, entered the business just before closing. Police said one suspect held employees at gunpoint while the remaining suspects stole jewelry and other valuables from inside the store.

One of the suspects sprayed pepper spray during the robbery, officers said.

Witnesses told police the suspects fled in a black two-door Infiniti sedan that was not displaying license plates.

A short time later, officers said they found the suspected car unoccupied a short distance away on Nave Court. The Infiniti had been stolen one week ago, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery, police said.

This remains an active investigation.
