City Of Novato Launches Short-Term Rental Registration Program
Short-Term Rentals are typically advertised on websites such as Airbnb, VRBO, or HomeAway.
October 6, 2021
The City of Novato is pleased to announce the launch of its new Short-Term Rental Registration Program. On February 9, 2021, the Novato City Council adopted Novato Municipal Code § 8.12 which allows permanent residents to rent out all or part of their home as a Short-Term Rental (defined as less than 30 consecutive nights). This ordinance sets a maximum occupancy, asks owners to develop a parking plan, and sets what types of properties are eligible to rent out. Short-Term Rentals are typically advertised on websites such as Airbnb, VRBO, or HomeAway.
