Learn How To Keep Marin County Kids Safe On Social Media
The workshop will cover how to spot red flags from online predators and other social media perils.
NOVATO, CA — Locals can attend a free social media workshop on the evening of May 28 at Novato City Hall to learn about the perils of sexting, understand sex-trafficking of minors and spot online predators’ red flags, according to a press release.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on May 28, the Polly Klaas Foundation will partner with the Novato Police Department, the Novato Unified School District and the Novato Parks and Recreation Department to provide a social media safety workshop.
“Teens are their own first line of defense – let’s give them the tools to stay safe online and in the real world,” a press release stated.

Free dinner from Tommy’s Salsa, treats from Tuttimelon and Crumbl, and gift card prizes will be provided for free to the first 25 teens who arrive.
This event is free and appropriate for parents and middle and high schools students. The presentation will be in both English and Spanish.
