Construction On Novato Temporary Camp Underway

NOVATO, CA — Construction crews last week started work on a court-ordered temporary camp at Lee Garner Park, city officials said.
The work began on Nov. 29 with crews helping occupants move their belongings out of the construction zone, officials said.
On 11/29, construction work on the court-ordered Temporary Camp at Lee Gerner Park began as crews worked to help park occupants relocate out of the construction zone. U. S. District Court Judge Judge Gonzalez-Rogers of the District Court for the Northern District of California in October presided over an agreement between the city and the California Homeless Union on the construction of a temporary camp for those currently living there.

“Nearby, businesses, residents and visitors to the park may notice an increase in the number of tents at the north end of the park as several people and their personal items were moved out of the construction zone this week,” city officials said in a statement.
