Demolition Will Begin At Empty Office Campus In Marin County
The city said the buildings will be destroyed to make way for more housing.
NOVATO, CA — A development firm will start the demolition process Monday of a Novato office campus that has sat empty for years.
Bay West Development plans to initiate the demolition of the former Fireman's Fund office campus on Monday or shortly after.
They will be removing the existing office buildings, parking lots, on-site utilities, man-made pond, landscaping, and more within the area of East Campus Drive, West Campus Drive and San Marin Drive.

Demolishing the office campus is a step towards residential redevelopment, expanding Novato's affordable and market-rate housing, city officials said. Bay West Development will submit plans for future neighborhoods.
The demolition will be limited on workdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city said measures will be taken to minimize noise, dust and traffic.
