Dog Found Under Novato Pizza Shop Adopted By Owner

NOVATO, CA — A lost chihuahua recently found living beneath a Round Table Pizza in Novato now has a family to call his own and a new name: Pupperoni.

Marin Humane took in the pup after the rescue and looked after him while searching for a home. It didn't take long for things to come full circle. Andy Wiederhorn, the founder and chairman of FAT Brands, which owns Round Table Pizza, heard about his story — and it was love at first sight.

Wiederhorn and his wife, Jessica, finalized the adoption this week and held a special celebration Thursday at the Novato pizza shop, setting aside 15 percent of sales to support Marin Humane. On top of the proceeds from the pizza party, the FAT Brands Foundation presented Marin Humane with a $10,000 check.

According to the company, Pupperoni may soon find himself with a new job: as Round Table Pizza's official mascot.
