Fire Burns 6 Acres In Novato
Agencies from around the region responded to a vegetation fire Tuesday at the Rush Creek Preserve.
NOVATO, CA — A vegetation fire burned about 6 acres on the north side of the Rush Creek Preserve in Novato on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Novato Fire Protection District.
The fire was reported at about 12:45 p.m. and crews were able to stop forward progress on the flames by about 1:20 p.m., fire officials said.
As of about 2:30 p.m., the fire was about 75% contained and no structures were threatened at any point. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the fire district.

The response to the vegetation fire involved air support and agencies that included Cal Fire, the Marin County Fire Department, the Central Marin Fire Department, the Marin County Sheriff's Office and Novato police.
