Funk Band ‘Trace Repeat’ To Perform In Novato

NOVATO, CA — A East Bay soul and funk band known for shattering stereotypes will perform in Novato next week.

Trace Repeat is scheduled to play at the North Bay city’s ongoing Concerts on the Green series July 15.

The free summer concert series is held on select Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. at Novato Civic Green (901 Sherman Ave.).

Trace Repeat, founded in 2015, has been the subject national media coverage for being a rare Asian American band that performs funk and soul music.

“Once you’re an Asian American band you can only play Asian American shows,” Woo told the publicationMother Jones in a 2017 interview.

“I just want to be a band—a really dope-ass funk band.”
