Marin County Man Found With Over 1,600 Child Pornography Images: Police
Police said they arrested a 20-year-old man after working with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
NOVATO, CA — U.S. Marshals said they arrested a 20-year-old Novato man on Tuesday after discovering he had downloaded and viewed child sexual assault materials and interacted with minors over the internet, police said.
After working in conjunction with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, Novato Police Detectives identified John Ramirez, 20, of Novato as the suspect, police said.
Detectives said they served a search warrant at Ramirez's home and found evidence linking him to his crimes. They did not find Ramirez at his residence and learned he had fled to Southern California, police said.

On Tuesday, U.S. Marshals located and arrested Ramirez in Southern California where he is supposed to be extradited to Marin County for possession of 1,650 images of child pornography of a minor under 12 years old and possession of "images depicting sexual sadism to a minor," police said.
"We extend a special thanks to the ICAC Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service for their partnership and support in bringing this suspect to justice. Together, we remain committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community," police said.
