Novato Blaze Snarls Highway 101 Traffic
The Armstrong Avenue fire has been extinguished but the blaze triggered traffic delays on Highway 101, police said.
NOVATO, CA — A traffic advisory has been issued due to a vegetation fire on Armstrong Avenue, the Novato Police Department said in a 4:14 p.m. alert.
The blaze has been extinguished but work on the blaze is still in progress and traffic is heavy on Highway 101 in both directions and on Atherton Avenue, police said.
Armstrong Avenue between Cherry Street and Atherton Avenue, Rush Creek Place, which were previously closed, have reopened, police said.

The CHP first reported the blaze at 3:03 p.m.
Police said power has been affected in some areas.
