Novato Business License Owners Mistakenly Sent Hotel Tax Bill
Only businesses that provide lodging are required to pay the Transient Occupancy Tax.
NOVATO, CA — Novato business license holders were mistakenly sent a hotel tax bill, and they’re being advised to ignore it.
City officials said a business license contractor emailed business license holders in error advising of their obligation to pay a Transient Occupancy Tax.
Only businesses that provide lodging are required to pay such taxes.
