Novato Celebrates Four-Legged Crime Fighter's Birthday

NOVATO, CA — The Novato Police Department doesn’t typically publicize the birthday celebrations of those who serve and protect the community.

But Rookie is no ordinary cop, so the North Bay agency is breaking with protocol on this one for their toothy-smiled four-legged friend who loves to be cuddled but isn’t a big fan of bad guys who try to get away.

“Happy Birthday to K-9 Rookie,” the NPD wrote on its social media pages Monday.

“He has been with #NPD since 2018 and works so hard to be a #goodboy.

“We wish you an awesome day filled with lots of yummy treats and cake (doggie cake).🎂”
