Novato City Manager Reflects On Year’s Accomplishments

NOVATO, CA — Novato’s top administrator in a letter to constituents on Monday reflected on the year’s accomplishments and credited residents for their engagement that helped get things done.
“The Novato pride in our community is stronger than ever,” City Manager Adam McGill said in the letter, noting that after a year spent mostly under lockdown, 2021 saw the return to community events in the North Bay city such as Movies on the Green, National Night Out and the reopening of the Margaret Todd Senior Cienter and Hamilton Pool.
“These events were only a success because all of you have worked so hard to keep our community healthy and safe. Thank you for doing your part and showing up to have Novato Fun with us this year!” McGill said.

McGill touted the City Council’s adopting a 2021-2013 Strategic Plan and a fiscal budget amid challenging circumstances was no easy task, McGill said.
The city commemorating Pride for the first time with virtual events and social media promotions, and the “greening” of the city’s vehicle fleet with new hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles, were among Novato’s notable accomplishments, McGill said.

“It is because of your feedback and engagement that we have been able to accomplish so much this year,” McGill said.
Looking ahead, McGill is urging residents to engage in Novato’s redistricting process by submitting proposed boundaries using the city’s online map-drawing tool.
“Our voting districts are meant to represent YOU, and I encourage you to share your input with us by drawing and submitting proposed district maps using our online map-drawing tool or paper map,” McGill said.
“I feel privileged to provide public service to our community, and I can confidently tell you that all City staff share in that sentiment. I look forward to continuing to serve you in the new year and beyond. Wishing you and your families the best in 2022!
