DUI Checkpoint Planned For Friday In This Marin County City

Police said DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing areas with the most impaired driving-related crashes.

NOVATO, CA — The Novato Police Department announced there will be a DUI checkpoint this Friday but have not disclosed the location.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” said Reza Pourfarhani, an NPD sergeant. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”

Police said they determine the location of checkpoints based on data that shows the greatest number of incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
