Novato Man Arrested In Connection With Marin Robberies

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with two December store robberies in Marin County, police said Thursday.

The case began when a suspect displayed a gun and stole several cartons of cigarettes at gas stations in Novato and San Rafael on Dec. 19, according to police. Elliott Malone, described by police as a 30-year-old Sonoma County transient, was arrested Dec. 23 in connection with the crimes.

Officers were able to obtain video of the robberies from in-store surveillance, police said.

After the arrest, Novato and San Rafael police continued to investigate, identifying a second suspect.

Randy Severdia, 49, of Novato, was arrested Dec. 31 in connection with the crimes, according to police. Following an interview, Severdia was booked into Marin County Jail, police said.
