Novato Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Assault With A Deadly Weapon: Cops

NOVATO, CA — A Marin man was arrested Sunday in connection with an assault on a woman at a local park, police said.

Michael Shane Tierney, 37 of Novato, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Novato Police Department said.

Officers at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday responded to the 900 block of Seventh Street on the report of an assault at Lee Garner Park, police said.

The victim told police that during an altercation Tierney struck her in the face with a speaker “causing a visible injury to her face,” police said.

Tierney and his victim are not involved in a domestic relationship, police said.
