Novato Man, Former Manager Of SF Hilton, Sentenced For Fraud
Geoffrey Palermo, the former manager of the Hilton in downtown San Francisco, was convicted of approving millions in inflated invoices.
NOVATO, CA —The former manager of the Hilton hotel in downtown San Francisco has been sentenced to prison after admitting he took more than $1.8 million in kickbacks from hotel contractors, federal prosecutors said.
Geoffrey Palermo, 60, of Novato was sentenced to 65 months in prison following his conviction on wire fraud, failing to pay taxes, and other charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California announced Friday.
From 2013 through 2016, Palermo approved payments of more than $6.4 million in inflated invoices for construction and renovation work by A. Roldan Construction, according to prosecutors. The company in turn paid him more than $1.6 million in kickbacks, prosecutors said.

Additionally, in 2014 and 2015, Palermo approved payments of over $2 million to a second contractor based on inflated invoices and received over $300,000 in kickbacks, prosecutor said.
Palermo has been detained since June 27, 2023, prosecutors said.
