Novato Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested

Brandon Reece Clark, 33 of San Francisco, was found to be in possession of suspected Fentanyl, according to police.

NOVATO, CA β€” A San Francisco vehicle theft suspect was arrested Tuesday, Novato police said.

Brandon Reece Clark, 33 of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and a controlled substance, according to police.

The involved vehicle was towed to a local tow yard and the owner was notified, police said.

Officers at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, police said.

Officers located the vehicle nearby and conducted a β€œhigh-risk” traffic stop, which is typically initiated when a traffic stop involves a stolen vehicle and the occupants may pose a significant threat to the officers, police said.

A search of the vehicle revealed suspected Fentanyl and suspected stolen items, police said.

Clark was also in possession of a stun gun and pepper spray, according to police.

He was booked into the Marin County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled substances and other charges.

Since January 2022, the Novato Police Department has recovered 6 stolen vehicles and 4 stolen license plates specifically in the Vintage Oaks area, police said.

β€œWe continue to work with partner agencies and the community to reduce property theft and stolen vehicles,” the agency said in a statement.
