Novato's San Marin Readies For MCAL Football Opener
After their bye week, the unbeaten Mustangs will play their league opener on the road against San Rafael.
NOVATO, CA – Unbeaten San Marin High has a bye week ahead of its Sept. 24 Marin County Athletic League opener.
The Mustangs kick off league play on the road against San Rafael. The Bulldogs are 1-1 going into Friday’s nonleague home game against Albany (0-2).
San Marin is ranked No. 20 in the North Coast Section by MaxPreps.

Quarterback Joey Cook has led a high-scoring Mustangs offense that’s averaging just under 50 points per game. The junior has completed 31 of 49 pass attempts for 605 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception in three games.
Senior running back Justin Guin has been a key factor for San Marin too. He leads the team with 461 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

The Mustangs are coming off an impressive 37-14 nonleague win Sept. 10 against Moreau Catholic of Hayward in which Cook threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns.
