NUSD Expands Transitional Kindergarten
The district will hold an informational event later this month for parents of incoming TK/Kindergartners for the 2022-23 school year.
NOVATO, CA — The Novato Unified School District is expanding its transitional kindergarten program.
The NUSD is expanding the program by two months for the 2022-23 school year to include children who turn five years of age in December 2022, or January 2023, district officials said.
The district will hold an informational event later this month for parents of incoming TK/Kindergartners for the 2022-23 school year.

Information Night is scheduled for Nov. 17 at 6:30 pm.
The event will take place in the Board Room at the NUSD District Office (1015 7th Street).

The Information Night will also be livestreamed on NCTV’s YouTube Channel and will be recorded and posted on the NUSD website.
Jennifer Larson, Assistant Superintendent Education Services, Karen Freemantle, Education Services Coordinator, NUSD Elementary Principal representatives, and NUSD Kindergarten teacher representatives will give a presentation and answer questions.
Spanish interpretation will be provided.
Additionally, bilingual registration support will be available 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the District Office.
To help the registration process, parents or guardians are asked to bring the required paperwork.
Representatives from the NUSD’s Dual Immersion Program at Lynwood Elementary School for transitional kindergarten through fifth grade will be available, too.
Students enrolling in kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year are required to have their fifth birthday on or before Sept. 1, 2022.
Students enrolling in transitional kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year are required to have their fifth birthday between Sept. 2, 2022, and Feb. 1, 2023.
