Missing 92-Year-Old Woman Found In Marin County: Police (patch.com) — A 92-year-old woman with dementia who walked away from her home in Novato’s Marin Mobile Home Park on Sunday night was safely located after an early-morning search. Novato police and Marin Search and Rescue canvassed Southern Novato, starting in the Hamilton neighborhoods and nearby walking paths she regularly uses.
   

2. Marin presses AT&T over 911 disruption during storm (pressdemocrat.com) — During this month’s severe flooding, Novato’s police dispatch center became Marin’s 911 lifeline after an AT&T substation failure knocked out phone and emergency lines countywide. Novato dispatchers handled calls for multiple agencies while officials now press AT&T for backup protections and urge residents who couldn’t reach 911 to report their experiences.
   

3. In Your Town for Jan. 14, 2026 (marinij.com) — Novato residents can catch a free screening of “The Princess Bride” with snacks at the Novato Library on Novato Boulevard on Jan. 24 from 2:30 to about 4 p.m. The same regional roundup also covers a Fairfax permit hearing, a Lagunitas parole denial, and a proposed home in Stinson Beach.
   

4. Last Remaining Encampment Residents Await Dwindling Housing Vouchers In Marin County (patch.com) — Unhoused residents at the Binford Road vehicle encampment near Novato are waiting on limited housing vouchers and a new temporary rent-support program as Marin County works to shrink the site. Officials say about 65 vehicles and 45 people remain, with services shifting to a new provider and funding tied to state Encampment Resolution grants through 2027.

  • My 2 year old cat stuck up in a redwood tree for over 24 hours called several arborist which Marin county sheriff said to do but no one has returned my call yet.
